The Facilities

The European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS) is an international and interdisciplinary structure in Florence. The main research lines are atomic physics, photonics, physical chemistry and biophysics.

Physics Department of the University of Pisa

The University of Pisa is one of the most ancient universities of Italy and Europe. In its facilities among the others studied the Physics Nobel laureates Enrico Fermi and Carlo Rubbia. We will visit the labs of optics, lasers and crystal growth.

The VIRGO is a gravitational wave detector made up by a massive Michelson laser interferometer.

The National Enterprise for nanoScience and nanoTechnology (NEST) is an interdisciplinary research and training centre in Pisa which closely collaborates with the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore.

The Institute of Communication, lnformation and Perception Technologies (TeCIP) is part of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. Its research concerns the use of photonic technologies in the construction of communication networks, sensors and biophysics.

Hotel Moderno

Accommodation is granted at the Hotel Moderno, in Via F. Corridoni 103, Pisa. Rooms provided are double, triple, quadruple.
